On 30th of June, Nicky Wu came to Beijing quietly. But the reporters still managed to learn of it and many went to the International Hotel in Beijing hoping to get an interview with Nicky. The purpose of his presence in Beijing is to film Gu Long classic swordfighting novel "Xiao Shiyi Lang". This 40-episode swordfighting drama is estimated to take about 4 months. His female co-star is old partner Athena Chu. This is also the first time Nicky came to Beijing for filming which would start on July 2 at a very remote area in Beijing called Shidu.

Ten minutes late. Nicky finally appeared and apologised repeatedly for being late. Dressed in a pink shirt and dark pants, it looked simpler than some of the male reporters present. Without even a second to rest, immediately after he sat down, he was bombarded with questions from the reporters.

On the reason for coming to Beijing this time, Nicky answered, "I have come for the filming of a new TV drama "Xiao Shiyi Lang" starting on 2nd of July. I will be the male lead in the drama." He also revealed that for the rest of the year, his activities in China would not be less than ten, including filming 7 to 8 commercials, attending awards presentation as well as filming TV drama. No wonder there are already rumors that he intends to turn to China to develop his career.

Faced with one question after another, Nicky calmly said,"I have been in Hong Kong most of the time these two years, mainly filming movies. However, this year my work in China will be a lot more." When asked how he felt about such a change, he explained generally,"This is decided by the environment. There are more and more co-operation in movies between China and Hong Kong. Artists in such environment will also follow suit." This is the second time, Nicky worked together with the China TV production. When asked to grade his feelings on the first time, he said carefully,"In the "Adventure of the Swordwoman", there are many unpredictable factors. In Taiwan, 30 episodes were screened but only 20 in China. "This is something an actor can not control. I could only focus on presenting to the viewers the character in the story, but my role in the "Swordwoman" is cooler, which limited my performance."

Nicky said on his coming TV series,"After filming "Swordwoman", I read nearly 40 scripts and was especially interested in "Xiao". This is because the script has maintained the original flavour of the novel and even added in more delicate details on the relationship. It is one of the few Gu Long novels that has so many scenes on one relationship. And the character is very wild. I am very interested."

"Different kinds of jobs mean different kinds of challenges. I already got a diving licence. Now, I will learn photography, photographing the life under the seas is very interesting. Normally, when we open the window, all we see is high rise building and grey sky. But it is most beautiful under the sea. It's like a huge color canvas, bright and colorful. There are valleys, caves and gardens...it is more wonderful then on land."

According to Nicky, he will be playing the role of Xiao Shiyi Lang while Athena Chu plays the most beautiful woman in Jiangnan--Shen Bijun. This is the fourth time they cooperate, but it is still refreshing for TV viewers, as this is the first time they work together in a TV drama.

Nicky will also be singing the theme song for the new drama. This song will be recorded in an album. The filiming of "Xiao Shiyi Lang" will start in July. However, as Athena has not come, Nicky still has to wait a few more days for her patiently.

Nicky also revealed, after he finished "Xiao", he wouldl go to Singapore and Malaysia to film a highly invested idol drama. At the same time, for the rest of the half year, he planned to go into hosting. He would be hosting a program introducing the culture of different places. He also revealed that his focus would shift to China.

When the topic turned to hist girlfriend, Ada, Nicky said that Ada is a very innocent and hardworking girl. He really likes her. When asked about Ada's family problem not long ago, Nicky answered seriously,"I also went through alot in the past, this is family problem, I cannot get involved. But I will give her emotional support and go through the difficulties together. Everything is over now and our relationship has become more stable." Although these words were said very calmly, happiness could be seen from the look of Nicky.

It is also understood that the movie "First Love" in which Nicky cooperated with Alec Su will be screened in August in China. This is the first time two of them work together after the breakup of the "Little Tigers".
